In the webshop, you can order not only custom-cut rectangles but also (half) circles. This inspired Lise to create her own budget-friendly custom table from two half-circle MDF 18mm panels. By cleverly using materials, she has made a beautiful round table that she crafted herself. By investing a lot of time and care in the finishing touches, it fits well with the interior and will last a long time.
Lise's Description:
Round dining table with a diameter of 140 cm, consisting of 2 half circles. The leg consists of 2 half circles with a wooden frame surrounded by bendable plywood.
How I Made This Project:
As a young family, it is sometimes difficult to afford the table of your dreams that you find in the store. That's why we came up with a plan to make a table ourselves. First, we created the base by assembling a wooden frame. On the bottom and top of the wooden frame, we mounted the 2 round circles with a diameter of 60 cm. On top of this, we mounted the 2 half circles using both MDF screws and wood glue. We filled the seam with wood filler. Then, we sanded the entire top and applied 4 coats of lacquer. For now, we will leave the plywood in its natural wood color, but we may eventually give it a coat of lacquer as well.
Dimensions of my DIY project:
