In this DIY project, Tjardo demonstrates how he created a beautiful piece of furniture using Ikea, scaffolding pipes, and custom-cut oak timber panel. By opting for online ordering of cutting work, he was able to start his project right away. The result is a homemade hallway cabinet with a coat rack.
Description by Tjardo
Hallway cabinet with coat rack. With Metod/Maximera base cabinet and Voxtorp doors/drawer fronts. The oak timber panels are attached using a frame of white scaffolding pipes.
How I made this project
For the cabinet, I used two Metod kitchen base cabinets measuring 80 x 37 cm each. With a Maximera drawer and Voxtorp doors and drawer fronts. I also made an enclosure around a radiator with two shallow shelves (bottom left). On top of this is the oak top (Oak Timber Panel A/B 26 mm) measuring 263 x 42 cm, the same dimensions as the top panel. The cabinet is assembled using a scaffolding pipe construction of Ø 33.7 mm.
Dimensions of my DIY project
