In this project, Bronte showcases how she created a kitchen on her attic with the help of Ikea and an old countertop. She ordered custom-cut underlayment and OSB panels online to finish the kitchen. Read more about her approach in this blog.

Description by Bronte

We built a kitchen on our attic using Ikea cabinets and underlayment panels. This way, we were able to conceal the washing machine and transform the attic into a man cave.

How I made this project

Step-by-step guide for underlayment kitchen (ceramic countertop is leftover from the old kitchen, which we won't further discuss in this description). 1. Determine the size of your kitchen. 2. Order Ikea cabinets + hinges. 3. Measure and order door panels and countertop online. 4. Assemble the cabinets. 5. Build a frame with cabinets + countertop. Reinforce with OSB panels if necessary. 6. Attach doors including hinges. 7. Treat wood with waterproof varnish. 8. Finishing touches: Install handles. 9. Turn on the refrigerator :)
